Er. Albert Loh graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology in 1971 and following that a Master of Science from Stanford University in 1973. He is a registered Professional Engineer for both civil and mechanical engineering in Singapore as well as in California, a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a Fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers (UK).
Er. Loh has over 35 years of experience as a practising engineer. He has designed stadiums, bridges, buildings, jetties, offshore & onshore structures within the petrochemical industry.
Partly because of his aerospace background, Er. Loh has a unique approach to engineering design that has resulted in unusual innovative solutions to practical problems. It is an approach that emphasizes simplicity of design and practicality of construction over the expedient solution. Er. Loh believes that time invested in good engineering pays dividends to the client and this is the hallmark of our company.
Er. Loh has presented papers at various seminars on innovative design of steel roof structures, large slab precast wharf structures, computer controlled ferry landings, and second order finite element analysis. He has also lectured at the NTU to pass on some of his knowledge to the younger generation of engineers.
Under his leadership, Albert Loh Consultants has won awards for innovative design of steel roof structures, prefabricated concrete marine structures, pedestrian bridges, and ferry landings.
